About

As a kid I wanted to be a singer and actress, but those dreams were cut short when I recorded and listened to my singing voice on a tape recorder (yikes!). I was so busy dreaming about Hollywood that I didn’t notice my knack for writing until after college. It started in fourth grade when my teacher asked me to read my essay at a parent’s night. I went on to impress many more English teachers throughout school and one day the writing thing just clicked.

Since then I’ve written for more than 30 magazines and websites including Heart & Soul, Kansas City Magazine, QSR, MyBusiness, Yahoo! HotJobs, Monster.com, and Bankrate.com.

Before going freelance I put my talents to good use for a non-profit arts agency as the marketing communications manager where I worked on projects ranging from print/online ads to public relations to publication development.

In addition to my magazine work, I still love working with non-profits, businesses, and individuals to meet their marketing goals by copywriting press releases, website copy, SEO copywriting, resume writing, and more.
